Description:
La Gilardie is an attractive, single storey house (about 300 years old), which forms part of the owners’ converted perigordian farmhouse. It is set in a small hamlet in the ancient, beautiful Forêt de la Double, former hiding place for horse thieves and smugglers. We are surrounded by woods, fields and lakes, a place to relax, to enjoy the sights and sounds of a fairly untamed countryside. Here you can watch buzzards circle the sky or hen harriers hunt across the fields.
The cottage has a large, beamed living room with a comfortable 3-piece suite, coffee table, dining table with chairs, a TV (french), VCR (good video collection) DVD player (good DVD collection), radio/CD/Tape hi-fi.
The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge (with small freezer) gas cooker and hood, micro wave oven, coffee machine etc. washing machine.
There are 2 bedroom, one with a king-size bed (1,80 m wide), large wardrobe, dressing table and bedside tables. The second bedroom has 2 single beds, wardrobe, bedside table and a comfortable put-you-up for a fifth person, if necessary.
The good sized bathroom has a shower, WC and hand basin.
The cottage has a private terrace with garden swing, table and chairs and an electrically operated awning. The small private garden has sun loungers and reclining chairs. The large, 1 acre garden is shared with the owners, there is plenty of shade for a siesta or for children to kick a ball around.
