La Maugerie is a 300 year old Normandy farmhouse which we have refurbished to a very high standard whilst retaining many of the original features.

Sitting on the edge of a small peaceful village with a shop / bar / tabac, La Maugerie has been lovingly and sympathetically restored by its present owners, with plenty of character but also modern features to make your stay with us enjoyable.

We have two south facing ensuite bedrooms with glorious views across the Vire valley.
The guest dining room has a huge granite fireplace with woodburning stove, keeping you warm during the cooler evenings. From here the original oak staircase leads you to your room which, whilst having plenty of character, also has all the modern comforts you would wish for.
As well as the scrumptious breakfast we offer homecooked three course evening meals with complimentary bottle of wine at very reasonable rates. Take a look at our guest book to see how our dinners are appreciated by our visitors.
St Vigor des Monts is situated just off junction 39 on the A84 ( toll free )

Although we are in a tranquil spot, we are only 10 kms from Villedieu les Poéles, a fantastic historic town where you can watch the artisans creating their famous copper pans. Be careful, you may be tempted to purchase a few.

Vire, with its fine restaurants and museums etc is 15 kms east.

A visit to the Normandy landing beaches or Bayeux and the city of Caen are all approximately 1 hour away.
Mont St. Michel can be reached in 40 minutes and the beautiful coastal town of Granville with its miles of clean and safe beaches, abundance of seafood restaurants and of course the Christian Dior museum is 30 minutes west. Here in La Manche, you will be able to experience the history of the area, or if you prefer a quieter, more relaxed holiday, you won`t be disappointed.
For walking/hiking you won`t find better than the St. Sever forest, less than 10 minutes drive away with over 3,000 acres to explore. Or wander the country lanes here in St. Vigor des Monts.

This is a very light & airy spacious room with a large en-suite shower room with shower, toilet and wash basin. We have also retained the beamed ceiling and huge 300 year old stone chimney breast

Double room sleeps upto 2 persons, 60 - 65 euros per room per night.

Single occupancy 60 euros per night

Double occupancy 65 euros per night

This room also has a beamed ceiling but is still very light and airy and can take an extra single bed at a cost of 20 euros.
